Phew that was lucky =)Ī good practice, is to have the Steam Client itself installed on your main drive (where your OS is installed), and since Steam now natively supports secondary installations (some titles don't) install the bigger, or less demanding games on your secondary. This took some 5mins and RO2 was available to be played again. Steam then said that it is checking the already installed files. So I choose the same where RO2 was still installed. Otherwise Ill stick to RO2.Originally posted by Kaiserr1337:Solution was: I let steam download the game again and it asked me for a folder. If It does seem alright I might buy a british campaign when that gets released. Needless to say I do not have high hopes. Lastly they are going into a realm that has been covered countless times no matter how "different" they think theirs will be. Games like War thunder require frequent content and it can hardly be considered balanced.
#Red orchestra game play full#
Gaijin is working on like 4 full titles plus 2 mobile games with allegedly only 150 employees total. Graphics are more than likely going to be similar to War Thunder's due to it being large scale and mass appeal oriented. That said, Scale gets chaotic (see r/planetside). Not doing anything better than RO2 other than graphics and scale. You dont get your money back and its not even ready yet. I have 5 things that stop me from buying a pack for enlisted.

"realistic tacticts" is about as vague as you can get in terms of selling points.Īs a player and appreciator of both Gaijin's War thunder and Tripwire Interactive's Red Orchestra. I have no idea what "5x15-30X30 team fight" really means. Hell, RO2/RS has "Enlisted" beat with the addition of the US/Japan theater.
#Red orchestra game play mod#
Russian/German side of things are pretty well covered in RO/RO2 and the British/US forces are getting some love through a mod called "Heroes of the West", using plenty of official tripwire assets. That being said human nature is also a thing to take into consideration: the more you have to command, the more likely there are going to be unwilling participants floating about the map. Granted, 150+ players would be amazing to see for a RO game assuming all the balance issues would be worked on and there's no limitations by the engine (there probably would be). Haven't played it in over a year now, so I wonder if the limitations on it (out of "random" rotation, kept with a limited tier 2/3 roster/lineup, only way to play sim would be through the same hosted "event" that has been on for a month, etc.) have gotten worse.Īs for comparing this to RO2/Rising Sun those features listed would likely alienate any potential interest, due to lack of similarities.Ī game like RO2 thrives on "immersion" I'm pretty sure a lot of people would balk at the idea of introducing a "3rd person" view to a game like RO2/RS/RS2. Simulation mode honestly seemed to be getting so little attention I wonder if it's in a quasi "depreciation" mode. Now the overwhelming majority of people play "demolition-derby" esque arcade mode, and nothing else. War Thunder was being promoted as a "simulator" of sorts during 2013 and even won the "Best Simulator" award at Gamescom 2013. Knowing Gaijin and how early in development this would all seem to be I would imagine a lot of this to be "over-promising", with not so subtle changes over time reflecting a shift towards what would be sustainable for the audience they've retained.
